Bacon's Gone Mobile!




Don Bacon goes mobile with his campaign, speaking at conferences, posting on social media, and meeting with his constituents. Bacon uses his platforms to discuss his beliefs and show his constituents what he stands for. He also uses social media to discuss hot-button topics and inform the public about what is happening in Congress. Bacon's social media platforms can also be used as a form of credit claiming. 

His caption on his post from February 17 informed the public about an act he had joined: "We need to provide essential trainings to equip first responders on how to best address trafficking situations which is why I joined @RepKatCammack's Human Trafficking Awareness Act." By using his social media to credit claim, Bacon is showing his constituents that he takes action in Congress and that those who vote for him are voting for his action.

While Bacon spends a fair amount of time in DC, he also finds it very important to connect with his constituents. Bacon shows up in full force for his constituents during Omaha's St. Patrick's Day parade. He also used the parade to advertise his campaign and create name recognition among his constituents. 


Another way Bacon connects with his constituents is by offering services. On Bacon's website, you can seek help with a federal agency, get tours and tickets, or get an internship. Bacon also champions multiple events, including an art competition, the Nebraska Breakfast, the Veterans History Project, and the Congressional Youth Advisory Academy. You can also request a flag from Bacon via his website. 

Bacon also uses his website to issue press releases. These releases inform his constituents about essential issues in the country, show where Bacon stands on issues, and show what he is doing to better our country. For example, in his most recent press release, Bacon responds to Biden's union address by saying that Biden is failing in finance, border security, and the war with Ukraine. This tells his constituents how he feels about important issues facing America and is a clear example of position-taking. These press releases are also a way for Bacon to discuss current bills he is pushing for in Congress. These press releases are the perfect avenue for Bacon to spread the word to his constituents and advocate for his reelection.

About Bacon

Biography Congressman Bacon grew up on a farm in Illinois. His childhood on a farm is one of the main reasons Bacon has worked so hard to represent farmers. After high school, Bacon attended Northern Illinois University. He graduated in 1984 with a bachelor's in political science. That same year, he married his loving wife, Angie. They now have 4 children together, along with 8 grandchildren.         Don Bacon is the Representative from Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District! Located in the eastern portion of Nebraska, the 2nd district encompasses the heart of the Omaha Metro area.
